What is Sure-track MT2?

The Sure-track MT2 solution consists of:

  • Hardware - a Siemens MC551 quadband GSM module for remote programming and macro location tracking.
    - A PCB with microprocessor and onboard intelligence, motion and temperature sensors.
    - A Lithium D-Cell with a 2-3 years life
    - An RF Beacon for pinpoint location.
  • Communication - a combination of GPRS and SMS
  • National Recovery Network

Sure-track MT2 spends much of its life in standby mode to preserve battery power and is programmed and controlled using GPRS and SMS text, working in the same way as your mobile phone.

Asset and Plant Tracking Device

The Sure-track MT2 unit has a standard configuration for it to be in standby mode for 10 hours, it then connects to the network and sends in a health check and positional data. The second wake cycle of the Sure-track MT2 unit checks for alarm messages every 100 minutes and thus incurs very little battery usage. If the Sure-track MT2 tracking and monitoring device receives an activation instruction this will consist of a theft alarm from the monitoring bureau, an internal alarm from onboard the movement sensor or an internal alarm message from the anti-tamper switch .

Upon activation of the Sure-track MT2 alarm, the GSM S.T.E.P. technology provides the mast macro location to which the unit is reporting. The Bureau arranges an appropriate response, sending this location to a member of the National Recovery Team.

Asset and Plant Recovery Device

The National Recovery network is capable of reaching any location in the UK within 4 hours. Sure-track MT2 has a built in directional radio frequency homing device, which can be tracked to an accuracy of sub 1 meter. Once the asset is located, and positively identified, the police are called in to make arrests and reclaim the asset.
