Sure-track MT2 FAQs

How long does Sure-track MT2 last?
Sure-track MT2 is battery powered and can have a lifetime of 3 years on standard configuration in good coverage, depending on the frequency of activation. Most of the time the Sure-track MT2 is in standby mode and it reports back a full configuration together with position and health check information every 6 hours and/or responding to internal alarms, for which it becomes activated. Every 45 minutes the Sure-track MT2 checks for incoming alarm messages, this second wake-up thus incurs very little battery usage.

How big is Sure-track MT2?
Sure-track MT2 is 99 mm long by 85 mm wide by 58.5 mm high.

Is Sure-track MT2 a viable security option if it is in standby mode most of the time?
The Sure-track MT2 is protecting at all times, even when lying dormant. There are two options for internal alarms within the Sure-track MT2 Unit. The Sure-track MT2 has a built in tamper switch which will create an alarm if someone tries to remove the Sure-track MT2 from its asset. There is also a built in 3 axis motion sensor to detect unauthorised movement. This alarm can be remotely controlled and or set to alarm only under specific conditions.

How conspicuous is the Sure-track MT2 unit once fixed to an asset?
Unlike GPS tracking systems, the Sure-track MT2 does not require antennae to be fixed to it. SureTrack is a wireless, battery-operated unit which means that it can be covertly installed and potentially lie dormant until such time as it is activated for instruction. In some cases, activating the Sure-track MT2 only after a theft has occurred, has increased the chances of the police catching those involved in the theft.
